We all know that we're leaning towards a generation where social media is needed for any business. A lot of business owners do It themselves or they hire an agency. If you're a business owner reading this or you run a social media platform for someone, there are ways and techniques that you need to follow so that you can get conversions. If you don’t have a story to tell, content to promote, testimonials to share, or a business promise worth shouting about, social media won’t help you much in the long run.
1. WHO ARE YOU?
As soon as someone goes on your facebook page, Instagram page, Twitter page, etc. It should only take a second or two for them to know who you are and what you have to offer. If one does not recognize what you do, they won't stay for long, the more of these people that you have, could be money just walking out of your page. It may seem like it's too little to even acknowledge it or too small to even really think about it and you want to skip to the "secret" part of social media results but you won't get no where without passing this step. First, find your story, then use imagery, quotes, fonts, and colors to back it up.
2. KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS
If you have a physical location where your customers need to walk in to make a purchase, there's no need to promote your business all over the United States. Seems simple enough to understand but you'll be surprised with how many people don't know how to market on facebook. Depending on your business and location, for a physical location; marketing on a 5-15 mile radius should be more than enough. Understand the demographics and interest of your customers so that beginning phase will be a lot easier for you proceed. To end this note, don't market coffee in San Diego when your coffee shop is Los Angeles.
3. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU PROMOTE
You need to know from the start that you have a roadmap to creating a sale. Simply posting content on Facebook will not create that sale that you need. You need to have some sort of road map or else you will be posting content after content, day after day with no results. What is a customer journey? It’s the plan you create to get people off social media and on to your website, or into your store. Likes are not conversions and content is rarely a direct sell to a cold audience.
-Focus on providing value with your content so you become a notable resource.
-Tell your business story so people begin to like and trust you.
-Give more than you ask, but don’t forget to make the ask. Once people like and trust you, they’ll expect the sales pitch—this is your chance!
Without a clear, defined customer path, from brand awareness to asking for the sale, social media will be a large waste of your time.
